I am a big board games fan. I love sitting down with family and friends around some dice, some cards, and some tokens!
In my circle of friends, the reigning champ is SETTLERS OF CATAN. This is perhaps the best board game I have ever played. A close second is RISK.

Wintertime around here is
Wintertime around here is board game time. It gets dark so early and you can only watch so many movies and tv....I personally like scrabble, Clue, Monopoly, and a few other old standards. It's fun when you have grandkids and can teach them all the old one's...they're all new to them, ya know?
Yeah, teaching kids is
Yeah, teaching kids is fun. My first son is just four years old, so we've been introducing him to kiddie faves like Candy Land and Chutes and Laddrers.
My granddaughter used to get
My granddaughter used to get soooo mad with Chutes and ladders we had to stop playing!! She just had the knack of landing on the chute spaces and sliding backwards. It's a great counting tool though...counting the spaces and such!

I love chess. Unfortunately, I rarely find the opportunity to sit down and actually play with someone. Computer programs aren't so satisfying, and I've heard one too many rumors about online players using computer programs to "play."
