Arkansas Driver Dies After Semi Crash at US 183 and US 54 Junction in Kiowa County

An 82-year-old driver from Clarksville, Arkansas, died after a two-vehicle crash involving a car and a Peterbilt semi at the US 183 and US 54 junction in Kiowa County, southwest Kansas.

An 82-year-old driver from Clarksville, Arkansas, died after a two-vehicle crash involving a car and a Peterbilt semi at the US 183 and US 54 junction in Kiowa County, southwest Kansas.

Kansas Highway Patrol reports Richard Whybark was driving a Toyota Corolla south on US 183 when he stopped at a stop sign at the intersection with US 54. As he pulled onto US 54 to make a left turn, he was struck by the semi, which then overturned. Whybark suffered fatal injuries, while the semi driver had no apparent injuries.

The crash occurred around the noon hour Friday in Kiowa County at the intersection of US 183 and US 54.
