Registered voters in Barton County can apply now for advanced voting ballots for the Nov. 3 General Election. Applications are available through the Barton County Election Office by mail, phone, or in person, and require a photo ID before a ballot request can be completed.

To request an advanced ballot, voters must provide photo ID. Signed applications can be delivered or mailed to the county clerk, or faxed to 620-793-1990. Voters may also download the application from the Barton County website under Departments > Elections > Advance Vote.

After a completed, signed application is received, the County Election Officer will provide an advanced ballot. An elector cannot apply for a ballot for another voter. Voters may vote in the office of the Barton County Clerk beginning Oct. 14 through noon on the day before the General Election. If a voter is sick, disabled, or illiterate, an application for an advanced ballot may be filed during the regular advanced ballot application period until the close of polls on Election Day.

Returning an advanced ballot in person must be done before the close of polls on Election Day; ballots may also be delivered to a polling location. If returning by mail, the ballot must be received on or before Election Day, and ballots will not be counted until Election Day. Affidavits of Assistance forms are available to help another elector with application and voting processes.
