Two people died late Saturday night in an Ottawa County crash involving a UTV and a car about three miles north of Bennington, according to KSAL News.
Ottawa County Sheriff Russell Thornton said the UTV failed to stop at an intersection and ran into the car. There were two people in the UTV and one person in the car. Both UTV occupants—Steven Hovey and Michelle Knight, both from rural Ottawa County—died from injuries sustained in the crash; Knight died at the scene and Hovey was transported to a hospital before passing away.
Neither person in the UTV was buckled up. The driver of the car was buckled up and was not injured. The crash was reported at 9:03 p.m. Saturday.
