Douglas County Commission candidates took questions in a Thursday evening forum covering affordability, county development, and the role of data centers, according to the Kansas Press Association.
Candidates also discussed county wetland and farmland development, budget priorities, and how non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) factor into their approaches. The discussion focused on policy tradeoffs that affect how the county grows and how resources are set for the coming term.
For Douglas County voters, the forum offered a chance to compare candidates’ positions on balancing housing and cost pressures with planning for economic development and environmental land considerations.
