The patrol said a 2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by 21-year-old Anthony J. Abete was eastbound on Burnside Drive when it crossed left of center and then corrected back toward the eastbound lane. The vehicle then traveled back left of center, left the roadway to the left, and rolled.
Abete died after the crash. His passenger, 19-year-old Adan Gonzalez, was taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital in Garden City with serious injuries. The KHP report stated neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.
