$62.7 million in BUILD grant infrastructure funding is being awarded to four Kansas communities, U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-Kansas) announced via Western Kansas News. Marshall said he supported the funding through letters of support for all four projects.
The selected efforts are aimed at construction, reconstruction, and evaluation work, with local priorities that include safer freight access for agricultural producers in Pawnee County, flood protection improvements and sidewalks in Junction City, and infrastructure changes involving interchanges in Lenexa and Wichita.
Marshall said the grants bring federal infrastructure dollars back to Kansas and highlighted the projects as practical, targeted investments tied to community needs.
