Wichita State volleyball fans get a rare home exhibition plus locker-room access

Wichita State’s volleyball team will hold its only home exhibition match at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22 at Charles Koch Arena, giving local fans a chance to watch the Shockers and meet players in person. The team will play Kansas City in what’s described as the second and last exhibition of the season, with players also available for a meet and greet after the match.

The Sunflower notes fans can register for a pregame locker room tour ahead of the exhibition, making the event a rare behind-the-scenes opportunity for Wichita-area supporters.

On the court, the Shockers are led by coach Chris Lamb, entering his 27th year. The team returns key players including Sydney Dunning, who led Wichita State last season in kills and service aces, and Gabi Maas, who recorded team highs in digs.

Wichita State’s regular season begins Aug. 28 against Stephen F. Austin at Koch Arena, starting a weekend described as part of the 17th annual Shocker Volleyball Classic.
