The Iola Seahorses and Humboldt Current move on to the postseason after wrapping up the regular season Wednesday in a rescheduled triangular meet that also included the Coffeyville Swim Team, at the Iola Municipal Pool.
Iola’s boys won their end of the meet despite missing some male swimmers because of an ongoing youth football camp, scoring 134.2 points to Humboldt’s 83 and Coffeyville’s 52. On the girls’ side, Coffeyville earned the win by 2 points, topping Iola 112 to Humboldt’s 60.
Multiple events highlighted the teams’ depth: Iola swimmers won the Women 15-18 200 Yard Freestyle (Lily Lohman, 3:01.19), the Mixed 6 & Under 100 Yard Medley Relay (Iola A, 3:06.09), and the Mixed 15-18 200 Yard Medley Relay (Iola A, 2:47.00). Humboldt took first in several medley relays as well, including the Mixed 7-8 100 Yard Medley Relay (2:07.85) and the Women 15-18 200 Yard Freestyle was won by Iola in the final event listed.
The Iola Register reports that the postseason is next for both programs following the Wednesday meet results.
