Argentina left Kansas City International Airport on Monday night, departing its local tournament base for Atlanta ahead of Wednesday’s World Cup semifinal against England, KMBC 9 reported.
During the tournament, Argentina called Kansas City home—training at Sporting KC’s training complex in Kansas City, Kansas, and staying at the Origin Hotel on the Berkley Riverfront. The team advanced after a 3-1 extra-time win over Switzerland at Arrowhead Stadium.
England’s path to the same semifinal included an extra-time 2-1 win over Norway. With both teams now set for the semifinal, the winner will move on to Sunday’s World Cup final.
