Arrow Stage Lines driver’s handwritten World Cup note turns into a Kansas-style connection with England’s Jude Bellingham

A coach operator for Arrow Stage Lines who spent weeks transporting England’s national soccer team through the Kansas City area says a handwritten, poetic letter he wrote after England’s semifinal loss became a global message—after Jude Bellingham shared it with millions online. FOX4 Kansas City - Kansas News reports that the driver’s note was created from what he observed during the team’s run, including the players’ resilience and how they carried themselves after setbacks.

Michael Chandler, a retirement-job driver after decades of military service, described the World Cup period as different from his usual work moving major sports teams. As the time went on, he said the trips included more than logistics—handshakes and thanks that reflected personal connections between driver and players.

After England’s loss to Argentina, Chandler says he felt compelled to give his message to Bellingham. The England player later posted about receiving the letter, helping it spread widely across social media. Chandler says the moment has been overwhelming, but he also noted that the letter was intended for one person and their relationship—before it reached the world.
