Cooler-than-usual weather continues in Kansas City, with rain odds rising into Thursday’s World Cup match

Kansas City will stay below normal for the next several days, with increasing cloud cover and a renewed chance of showers moving through the forecast. Tuesday brings a slight chance of afternoon showers after 4 p.m., with a high near 80 and a southeast wind around 10 mph.

Overcast Kansas City street scene with umbrellas and a distant stadium-like silhouette as rain chances increase.

Wednesday starts with a chance of morning showers, then turns partly cloudy, with temperatures ranging from about 66 to 82 and light and variable winds.

Rain chances climb again Thursday, spanning the afternoon, evening and overnight and focused more heavily across the southernmost counties. The forecast notes hope that the heaviest rain passes south of the stadium, but it is not guaranteed. Thursday’s high is near 79 with an east wind from 10 to 15 mph.

After that, Friday includes morning showers, then drier weather returning later, with a high around 81. Saturday follows with a brief morning shower before warmer, windier conditions arrive, followed by Sunday through the 4th of July bringing windy and very hot weather with highs in the 90s and heat index values around 100 to 105, plus little to no chance of rain.
