Saturday brings a lower threat of storms, with a low chance for a morning storm and partly cloudy skies. Temperatures are expected to range from 68 to 85 degrees, with south winds around 10 to 20 mph.
By Sunday, the pattern shifts toward intense heat, with a high of about 92 degrees and a heat index between 100 and 105 degrees. Winds are expected from the south at roughly 15 to 35 mph, as the heat wave begins in earnest.
The forecast indicates this overall pattern could repeat for at least 10 days, including the July 4 weekend, with only slim 20% chances for evening storms late next week.
