Thursday brings a better chance for relief, with a 60% chance of afternoon showers and non-severe storms. Some of those storms could include brief, stronger wind gusts, while temperatures stay near 92.

From Friday through Sunday, conditions turn very hot and humid again, with highs in the mid 90s and heat index values near 100. Overnight storm chances remain low, keeping the heat-focused forecast in place. KMBC 9 is tracking the ongoing pattern and the limited window for afternoon rain.
