A food allergy research nonprofit is teaming up with 15 and the Mahomies Foundation to offer free back-to-school resources for families preparing for the school year, with an event designed to help caregivers manage food safety in classrooms and cafeterias. The gathering is aimed at Kansas City-area families seeking practical education and support as children head into new routines.
FARE will host the event to help answer questions and provide materials relevant to back-to-school challenges, including how families approach food allergens during school activities and time spent away from a caregiver. The Mahomes foundation is also participating through its connection to the mission, as described in a news release.
The free program takes place from 1–4 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at the Plaza branch of the Kansas City Public Library. FARE and partners note that families can register to attend, but space is limited, with registration available through a link provided by the event organizers.
