Officers responded to the area of 19th Street between The Paseo and Vine Street and located three people who had been shot. Police reported that two adult women were awake and alert when officers arrived; one had injuries described as not life-threatening, while the other was seriously hurt. An adult man was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators later learned three additional victims went to hospitals in private cars. Police said an adult woman and an adult man were in stable condition, and another adult man was in critical condition. Early indications described by police suggest a group had gathered along 19th Street before multiple people began shooting in different directions, with all six victims reportedly hit while standing in the area.
