Sunny stretch through Wednesday before afternoon storms return Thursday in the Kansas City area

Sunny, warm conditions with lower humidity are expected to continue in the Kansas City area through Wednesday as a broad area of high pressure keeps widespread rain out of the forecast, according to KMBC 9.

Tuesday should start in the upper 60s in the morning and warm into the upper 80s during the afternoon, with humidity staying in check. Wednesday is expected to be similar, with abundant sunshine and high temperatures climbing just above 90 degrees.

That pattern changes Thursday as moisture increases. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to form during the afternoon and evening as temperatures rise. Severe weather is not expected, but any storms that develop could bring gusty winds and brief periods of heavy rainfall.
