Chelsee Chism, the Unified Government of Wyandotte County economic development director, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of DUI, according to KMBC 9. Johnson County Detention Center court records show Chism was booked Thursday for DUI aggravated battery/bodily harm.
The Unified Government placed Chism on administrative leave after it became aware of the arrest. Chism posted $5,000 bail and was scheduled to appear in court Friday afternoon.
Chism was hired by the Unified Government in the fall of 2024. Before joining the UG, she served as assistant city manager for Overland Park and Shawnee, both in Kansas.
