The U.S. Department of Education is escalating its threat to pull federal funding from four Kansas public school districts tied to their gender-inclusive policies, a Kansas Reflector report says.
The districts identified are Olathe, Shawnee Mission, Topeka, and Kansas City, Kansas. The department’s actions follow an April finding involving the same set of districts.
At least two of the districts have prepared for a legal battle, setting up a fight over whether the districts’ gender-inclusive policies can continue without federal funding being reduced or removed.
