Wedding-inspired fundraising tops nearly $17,500 for Operation Breakthrough in Kansas City

Swift and Kelce fans turned a wedding celebration into real support for local kids and families. KMBC 9 reports that donations for Kansas City’s Operation Breakthrough raised nearly $17,500 through a fundraiser inspired by Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s marriage.

Operation Breakthrough said some gifts were made in $13.87 increments—linking Swift’s favorite number “13” and Kelce’s jersey number “87” with the Chiefs. The nonprofit plans to use the funds to create more opportunities for the children and families it serves.

Operation Breakthrough provides educational opportunities and a safe environment for children living in poverty, along with support aimed at empowering their families. The organization also noted that Swift and Kelce have made donations to the group before, and Kelce’s foundation is involved with the nonprofit.
