Kansas Democrats face crowded U.S. Senate field heading into August primaries

Kansas Democrats are heading into the August primaries with a high concentration of candidates seeking the U.S. Senate, while comparatively fewer are running for other statewide offices. The Kansas Reflector reports that 11 Democrats have signed up to unseat Republican Sen. Roger Marshall.

At the same time, the field for governor appears much thinner, with only three Democrats running in the governor’s race. The imbalance sets up a central question for Democratic voters as they decide which candidates to support across multiple statewide contests.
