Kansas health officials say the number of people sickened by a diarrhea-causing parasite has more than doubled since last week. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) is reporting 55 cyclosporiasis cases across the Sunflower State from April through July this year.
KDHE previously reported a smaller count and is now updating the total as more cases are identified. The reporting is based on confirmed illnesses attributed to cyclosporiasis during the April–July period.
