Kansas Supreme Court leadership is set to change after Gov. Laura Kelly announced a new appointment to replace retired Chief Justice Marla Luckert. The governor’s choice, K. Christopher Jayaram, will be the new face on the court as the state moves forward from the chief justice’s retirement.
Kelly made the announcement Monday, July 13, and the update follows the Supreme Court Nominating Commission’s process to narrow candidates. Jayaram was selected as one of three final candidates by the commission.
