The agenda includes multiple rezoning actions tied to the annexation. The proposal includes 111 acres for residential zoning: 70.1 acres for low-density housing (R-2), 16.9 acres for medium density (R-3), and 23.5 acres for high density housing (R-4). If approved, 126.7 acres would be rezoned to a commercial center district, and 51 acres would be rezoned from agricultural use to open space.
Planning commissioners previously recommended approval of the annexation and the accompanying rezoning requests. The original annexation proposal was for 650 acres, but it was reduced to 288 after one property owner decided not to proceed.
