Lawrence school board to review 2026–27 back-to-school update Monday

Lawrence school board members will meet Monday to hear a back-to-school update from Superintendent Jeanice Swift as the district prepares for the 2026–27 school year.

Enrollment for returning students is underway through July 31. The meeting agenda also includes renewal of the district’s Centegix panic button system for $131,200 for the year, with the district paying $65,600 and the remainder covered by grant funds.

The board meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Monday, July 27 at district offices at 110 McDonald Drive. The meeting is open to the public, livestreamed on the district’s YouTube channel, and broadcast on Midco channel 26. While no general public comment period is listed on the agenda, board president Bob Byers said he would like to revisit adding public comment in future agendas.
