Lawrence community members gathered Tuesday evening to celebrate soccer and cheer on Team Algeria during the country’s first World Cup match. The gathering was the first of three planned street parties.
The event brought residents together to watch the game in a neighborhood setting focused on fan support and community atmosphere, according to the Kansas Press Association.
