Truck crash near McPherson sends Lebanon man to hospital

A 32-year-old man from Lebanon, Missouri, was injured in a single-vehicle truck crash on Interstate 135 in central Kansas, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Alexander Bumgarner was driving a Western Star straight flatbed truck northbound when he left the road to the right and struck a KDOT guardrail, a concrete barrier, and then a bridge pillar. The truck rotated about 90 degrees clockwise, rolled roughly three times, and came to rest on its passenger side.

He was not buckled up and was transported to a hospital in McPherson for treatment of suspected serious injuries. The crash occurred shortly after 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at I-135 milepost 61.9, about a mile south of Mohawk Road and approximately two miles northeast of McPherson.
