Ottawa commissioners end land-sale deal for proposed Proximity Park project after missed agreement deadlines

Ottawa commissioners unanimously terminated a land sale agreement with Lightfield Energy for the proposed Proximity Park project after the company did not submit required development and incentive agreements.

The decision came after Lightfield Energy was given two extensions but still did not provide the specific agreements needed to move forward.

With the termination finalized at a commission meeting on Sept. 23, the city can reassess next steps for the Proximity Park property and any future partners, keeping the focus on meeting development requirements before the project proceeds.
