Around 75 athletes from communities across Kansas gathered at Pittsburg State University on July 17 as the 2026 Special Olympics Kansas State Powerlifting and Flag Football Competition began, KSNT 27 News reports. The event brings athletes together to compete in powerlifting and flag football.
In the powerlifting portion, competitors took part in lifts including the deadlift, squat, and bench press. Organizers highlighted the opportunity for participants to demonstrate strength and determination as they work toward their performances in front of the community.
