Sabetha residents are being invited to help improve safety on city streets and country roads through a new “Safety First” campaign tied to the Sabetha Motion Picture company and the Sabetha Herald and Republican. The program will offer 52 rewards for the best 52 slogans submitted, and anyone may send in a slogan.
The city of Sabetha says it is making efforts to make streets and rural roads safer for pedestrians and motorists. The paper’s materials also point to frequent accident coverage, and note that the city has marked off side parking areas as part of its approach to safer driving and walking.
With temperatures hitting 100 degrees in the area over the weekend and corn and milo described as doing well but still in need of rain, the campaign adds another everyday focus for the community—encouraging safer movement for people traveling to businesses and along local roads.
