Free showers and laundry services are still available in Salina for residents recovering from the June 8 windstorm. Saline County Emergency Management says Granny’s Alliance has extended its free shower and laundry support in Saline County through June 27.
Residents can use the services at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, 304 W. Grand St. The facility will be open from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., with staff on hand to help keep the areas clean and available for people using the help.
Anyone coming is encouraged to bring their own supplies, including soap, towels, detergent, and other shower or laundry items if they have them. Free supplies will be provided for those who do not have what they need.
Since the services began on June 12, Saline County residents have used the shower service more than 600 times, and at least 40 families have used the laundry facilities, according to the information shared by Saline County Emergency Management. (NewsRadio 1150 KSAL)
