Salina CityGo adds a new Orange Route starting Aug. 10, reshaping Purple Route stops

Salina’s fixed-route CityGo bus system will enter a second phase of route changes later this summer, with a new Orange Route set to begin on August 10, according to NewsRadio 1150 KSAL.

The Orange Route will serve the industrial corridor and southwest Salina. It will operate in a loop along Centennial Road, Schilling Road, Magnolia Road and 9th Street, with transfer points at Planet Avenue, Dillon’s and Walmart. Riders will be able to transfer between the Orange Route and the Purple, Yellow and Red routes.

CityGo’s planned adjustment is also designed to make the existing Purple Route more direct. The Purple Route is currently CityGo’s longest route and serves an average of 5,000 passengers each month; with the Orange Route added, Purple Route will be shortened to provide a more direct connection between downtown Salina and Walmart. Stops on the Purple Route along Centennial Road will shift to the Orange Route starting August 10.
