A 53-year-old Salina man was arrested after police say he grabbed a neighbor by the neck and choked him during an encounter in a gas station parking lot. Officers were on scene to investigate a disturbance when the man began yelling at them and was ordered to the ground.
Police Captain Jim Feldman said Phillip Ledesma was taken into custody Sunday night around 10 p.m. The alleged assault occurred in the parking lot at the Pilot Travel Center in the 1900 block of N. 9th after Ledesma approached a 47-year-old victim and asked where an acquaintance of his was located.
Salina EMS evaluated the victim. Ledesma was booked into the Saline County Jail on a charge of aggravated battery.
