A Salina man wanted on an outstanding warrant was arrested after an encounter that involved an alleged attempt to resist officers and a shoving incident, according to NewsRadio 1150 KSAL.

Police presence at dusk with a restrained person and an ambulance-like vehicle nearby

Police said officers were called just before 8 p.m. Thursday to check on a man reported to be acting suspicious. Upon arrival, officers recognized 44-year-old Brandon Paul and attempted to take him into custody on a warrant for failure to appear in Saline County District Court.

Paul allegedly resisted arrest and was placed into a body wrap after shoving an officer. He was transported to Salina Regional Health Center, where he was cleared, and then taken to the Saline County Jail. Authorities said Paul was charged with battery and interference with police in addition to the outstanding warrant.
