Officers responded Wednesday at about 12:00 p.m. After contacting a 44-year-old Salina woman, police said she reported visiting a known associate, identified as 43-year-old Jeremiah Bastin. Police report that the two argued, that Bastin allegedly threw alcohol on the woman, and that he retrieved a baseball bat and swung it at her but missed. Police said Bastin then retreated into a back room, and when he did not come out, officers cleared the residence and located him hiding in a closet.

Bastin was taken into custody without further incident. A search warrant was completed for the residence, and police recovered a bat. He was booked into the Saline County Jail on charges including aggravated assault, domestic battery, and interference with law enforcement.
