Salina Regional Health Center has received two American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines achievement awards for its stroke care. The Salina hospital’s recognitions include the Get With The Guidelines–Rural Stroke Gold award and the Get With The Guidelines Stroke Gold Plus with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll awards.
The health center said the awards reflect a sustained commitment to following up-to-date, research-based treatment guidelines for stroke, with the goal of helping save lives, support recovery, and reduce hospital readmissions. Salina Regional also emphasized that stroke is time-sensitive and that the awards represent its approach to providing emergent stroke care.
NewsRadio 1150 KSAL notes that Get With The Guidelines is designed to help hospitals align stroke and cardiovascular care with science-backed guidelines through quality improvement. Salina Regional qualified for the awards by demonstrating that commitment over time.
