Salina native Nathan Tysen is among the nominees being considered for induction into the latest class of the Kansas Music Hall of Fame, the Kansas Music Hall of Fame, Inc. said. Tysen is a songwriter and vocalist whose work has earned Grammy and Tony nominations, and whose musicals have been produced on Broadway and London’s West End. For more than 25 years, he has also served as the frontman of the Salina-based rock band Joe’s Pet Project.
Final results for the current induction class will be announced shortly after a January 1 voting deadline. The Kansas Music Hall of Fame is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in August 2004, focused on preserving and celebrating Kansas’s musical heritage. Since its inaugural induction ceremony in January 2005, the Hall of Fame has honored more than 200 artists.
Nominees were recommended by Hall of Fame members and members of the public. The organization says it continues to welcome nominations from across the state. Those interested in participating in the selection process are encouraged to become members before midnight on January 1, 2027; membership includes an official ballot and nominee biographies.
