Salina’s City Lights Pavilion project is nearing completion, with crews finishing a metal roof expected to add covered parking, shade, and on-site amenities. Work paused earlier this summer while pre-engineered pieces were delivered to Salina, and construction activity has since continued toward completion.
When the pavilion is ready by the end of August, downtown leaders aim to relocate the Saturday morning Farm and Art Market to the facility. Salina Downtown Executive Director Leslie Bishop told KSAL News that the roof and other added features—lighting, fabric sails, and ceiling fans—are designed to support the market and also create a venue for performers and concert goers.
The project, located at Ash Street and Santa Fe, carries a $1.4 million price tag. Funding comes through a partnership using Tax Increment Financing, repurposed Salina Fieldhouse parking funds, and downtown TIF funds.
