Construction is underway for a new hike and bike trail along the south side of Magnolia Road in Salina, starting this week between Belmont Boulevard and Ohio Street. The project will build a 10-foot trail that connects the existing hike and bike trails on Ohio Street and Ninth Street.
The City of Salina says the work will require closing the southernmost eastbound lane of Magnolia Road near Belmont Boulevard. Drivers are advised to use caution near the construction zone while the trail installation proceeds.
Funding for the trail comes through the city’s trails set-aside funding, along with sales tax support and a KDOT Transportation Alternatives Grant.
