A Salina woman facing murder charges related to the death of her 5-month-old son is scheduled to go to trial this October. The case was addressed at an arraignment in Saline County District Court, where 21-year-old Adyson Burr appeared before Judge Amy Norton, waived a formal reading of the charges, and entered a not guilty plea.
A jury pool of 150 citizens will be called and narrowed to 12, and the trial is expected to take about a week. Burr is being held in the Saline County Jail on a $1.5 million bond.
The charges stem from an incident on Monday, January 12, when first responders were sent to a medical call at a home in central Salina. Officers and medics found the 5-month-old boy, Tadyn Johnson, deceased after one of the occupants discovered him unresponsive in his crib. After both adult occupants were interviewed, Burr was arrested on charges including murder.
Burr was also previously found competent to stand trial on March 26.
