In the cases described, the people reached recognized the calls as fraudulent and ended the conversations.
Western Kansas News reports the center’s request is simple: if you receive a call from someone claiming to be a law enforcement officer or sheriff’s deputy, do not share information. Instead, contact the Law Enforcement Center at 620-872-2133 to verify whether the call is legitimate.
