STEM camp at Allen Community College includes advanced art sessions for students in kindergarten through eighth grade

A Marmaton Valley sixth-grader worked on an art project during Wednesday morning’s STEM camp at Allen Community College, participating in advanced art sessions focused on creativity, the artistic process and a variety of techniques. The Iola Register reports that the student was among those taking part in the camp’s art programming.

The camp was open to students in kindergarten through eighth grade and included hands-on learning experiences that extended beyond art, including service learning and outdoor survival skills. Art sessions were led by Chris Woods, who teaches preschool through high school art at Uniontown.

For families and students looking for a structured mix of creative and experiential learning, the camp offered multiple activity tracks aimed at developing skills in both making and applying knowledge in real-world settings.
