Sunflower Summer returns July 9 with free attraction admission for Kansas student families

Kansas Tourism is kicking off the 2026 Sunflower Summer program, inviting Kansas families to access complimentary admission to more than 230 attractions statewide. The season opens Thursday, July 9, and runs through Sunday, August 2.

The program is designed for Kansas school-aged students and their families, covering eligible admission costs for participating attractions. It is open to all Kansas students in pre-K through 12th grade, including public, private, and homeschooled students; out-of-state students and families are not eligible. For each attraction and season, the program covers the admission cost for eligible students and one adult guardian.

Tickets can be claimed through the free Sunflower Summer mobile app and redeemed at the venue upon arrival. The app is available through the Apple App Store, Google Play store, or the program’s webpage. Participating attractions include museums, discovery centers, historic sites, arboretums, zoos, and more.

Families can find the full list of participating attractions by visiting the program link or downloading the mobile app. To share experiences online, Kansas Tourism encourages use of the hashtags #ToTheStarsKS and #SunflowerSummer.
