Fiesta Topeka tradition continues as Our Lady of Guadalupe Fiesta Dancers celebrate more than 50 years

Our Lady of Guadalupe Fiesta Dancers have been a central part of Fiesta Topeka since 1975, helping keep the summer celebration going through more than five decades. Organizers say the group began as a small local effort and has grown into a larger dance group with more than 75 dancers from across the country.

The dancers include children as young as three years old, who are preparing for the upcoming summer festival. The feed describes the ongoing training and preparation happening now as part of the tradition the group has sustained since the late 1970s.

KSNT 27 News reports that the Fiesta Dancers’ long-running role in Fiesta Topeka reflects the group’s continuing presence in the event and its ability to draw participants beyond the local area.
