Kansas State Athletic Director Gene Taylor has been named the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics’ (NACDA) first vice president for the 2026-27 academic year, a leadership role that places him on the organization’s officer team. KSNT 27 News reports the appointment recognizes Taylor’s long-running role in college athletics administration.

Taylor has served as K-State’s athletic director since 2017. The report says he is joining NACDA’s officer leadership team after helping oversee one of the program’s most successful stretches, with the new position beginning in the 2026-27 academic year.

The move also keeps K-State connected to national athletics governance through NACDA, the group that supports collegiate athletic directors nationwide.
