KDOT is opening its broadband infrastructure to providers statewide

Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) is launching an Open Access Broadband Program that lets broadband providers access KDOT-owned infrastructure, aiming to expand broadband availability across the state. KSNT 27 News reports KDOT is accepting applications for the program, announced July 14.

The program is designed to make it easier for public and private partners to connect to transportation-linked infrastructure for broadband service. KDOT says the effort is intended to support broader broadband access throughout Kansas.

Broadband providers interested in participating can apply through the application process tied to the new KDOT program, which is currently open.
