Gov. Laura Kelly joined other Kansas leaders at a ceremony Wednesday to sign a bill that bans the use of cell phones in school zones and construction zones. The signing marks the official start of enforcement for Senate Bill 366.
Senate Bill 366 was passed earlier this year by the Kansas Legislature and was signed on July 22. The change is aimed at reducing distractions in areas where students and workers can be most vulnerable, including the spaces between roadways and school grounds and active construction sites.
