State’s student career-planning tool earns national recognition

A Kansas career exploration platform developed to help middle and high school students chart future paths has received two national awards, the Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) announced via KSNT 27 News.

Students exploring career pathways with an uplifting, forward-looking tone near a state-style office setting.

KDOL’s Labor Market Information (LMI) division honored its career exploration and planning platform, Today’s Occupations, Tomorrow’s Opportunities (TOTO), at the 2026 Workforce Technology Conference. The Kansas-focused resource is designed for students in grades 6 through 12.

By highlighting career options for Kansas students while they’re still choosing classes and considering training after school, TOTO reflects a workforce-development effort centered on early exploration. The awards underscore the platform’s recognition at a national technology conference tied to workforce planning.
