Topeka Mayor selected for a Harvard-led city leadership program

Topeka Mayor Spencer Duncan has been selected to join the 10th class of the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative, a program bringing city leaders together to address pressing municipal challenges. KSNT 27 News reports that Duncan will participate alongside Topeka senior officials as they learn from Harvard faculty, policy experts, and fellow mayors.

Duncan is one of 46 mayors chosen from 15 countries for the initiative’s latest cohort. The selection highlights Topeka’s participation in a global leadership group focused on practical city problem-solving—an opportunity intended to support better approaches to the day-to-day needs of residents.

For Topeka, the program means an expanded chance to exchange ideas with experienced local government leaders, with the goal of strengthening how city government tackles major community issues.
