Washburn Rural’s Dylan Willingham has been named the Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year, a statewide recognition for high school athletes. The award highlights excellence not only in sports, but also in academics and community.
Willingham led the Washburn Rural Junior Blues to a 6A Kansas state championship, a team accomplishment cited in the announcement tied to the Gatorade Player of the Year award.
KSNT 27 News reported that Willingham’s honor is rooted in performance at the high school level and the broader student-athlete standards the award is designed to recognize.
